Long ago the Devil introduced evil into God's creation and ever since the battle has continued. The ongoing struggle is described in detail in all the pages of the Bible. First God chose Israel in order to restore His original purpose for humanity. Later Jesus appeared as a prophet, announcing that Israel's ancient promises were being fulfilled. This announcement also carried a warning: "If Israel's true king is returning, then it is necessary for you to turn away from your wrong doing and return to God yourselves." He came first as a prophet, but he eventually made it clear he was also Israel's King, the Messiah. Jesus knew all along that his death was exactly his purpose and viewed the cross as the place where his great battle would take place. Jesus knew that by willingly giving up his life as a sacrifice, he would be crushing the ancient foe, the Devil. He knew that he would be taking the punishment for evil onto himself for all mankind, and that his people would therefore be free. It is Jesus' resurrection that reveals the meaning of the crucifiction. It is Jesus' proven power over the Devil's ultimate weapon, his undoing of death itself. Because Jesus has won this battle, the power of a new life has broken into the world. This is how God's lost children are forgiven and brought back into God's family.
The person of Jesus, his message and his invitation are as real to us today as they were to the Jewish People over 2000 years ago. Jesus said, "I am come that they might have life, and have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). Your invitation is to find this life that is truely Life. The life that is found in Jesus. You can do this by Believing what the Scriptures say about his life, death and rising to new life from the grave - and then by following him yourself.
To be saved is a simple process. "That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10
Now that you have confessed Jesus Christ as Lord in your life and believe God raised him from the dead...you Are Saved. Read the Bible, find a church to attend, and walk in the power of the new birth.
