From 1975 to 1979 I served as a church planting missionary here in the US in Wisconsin as part of a Biblical teaching and research ministry. It was during this time that I learned to read and study the scriptures from the original texts in Aramaic, Hebrew, and Greek. After my return from the mission field, I ran a Bible study fellowship in my home until I got married and my family grew (I have 2 adopted children and two of my own). In place of the in home Bible fellowship I became a Sunday school teacher in the church I was attending. I could not ignore the calling God had placed on me and teaching was a large part of that calling.
In November of 2001, I began going through a period of dealing with discouragement, when my marriage of 13 years ended. I did not feel worthy of serving my fellow believers in any capacity and let the hurt of the divorce hinder me from being a servant to my brothers and sisters in Christ. I channeled all of my energy into my work instead of what God had on my heart to do. I tried to start a business but I never could even succeed in getting any business. I finally prayed to God for the answer to this problem and the answer I got was not what I expected. The compelling thing I felt in my heart was to use the talents God gave me in Internet technology & marketing, to use the Internet to reach the maximum amount of people possible with the truths of God's Word. I
built the ministry web site. A business of my own was not God's will and I gave up my business idea to devote all of my effort to the ministry. I was ordained an independent minister on March 29, 2004 and started this teaching & outreach Internet ministry. On April 22, 2005 I received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree.
Besides this web site, the outreach and teaching tools utilize include: street witnessing, a MySpace page
www.myspace.com/pastor_richard_von_eye, Instant Messenger for teaching to locations outside of the United States, and Bible teachings posted on this site and on MySpace. Internet missionary efforts started in April 2007 with one person God sent my way who lives in China and has concluded July 27, 2007 with the new church in Nanning, Guangxi Provence, China having over 200 born again believers. I work 40 hours on my secular job and 50 to 60 hours doing the work of the ministry God has placed on my heart. Through the MySpace outreach page, I am now pastoring people in 74 countries. I provide counseling, prayer support, personal communication, answer Bible questions, and teach the Gospel. (
Pastoring believers in: American Samoa, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belarus, Belize, Borneo, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Cherokee Nation, Chile, China, Colombia, Congo, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Haiti, Holland, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Korea (North), Korea (South), Kenya, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Nigeria, Northern Mariana Islands, Norway, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syrian Arab Republic, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City, Venezuela, Vojvodina, & Yugoslavia.)
I have never applied for non-profit status since this is an individual work which has no income from it at all, nor have I registered as a church. I go to work at a regular job like everyone else and then then come home and spend almost all of my time doing the most I can to reach out and help people and teach the Scriptures. I do not want any form of government...whether local, state or federal to have any amount of control over what God's places on my heart to teach and say. Nor do I want any temptation to be an "ear pleaser" to increase contributions and ignore truths of the Bible. I am a servant of God preaching and teaching from the heart and fully believe that God will meet my needs completely without the help of man or government interference. I would rather build rewards in heaven for eternity than have financial gain on this earth.
I do not ask for support like many who minister to God's people. I totally support this ministry through my secular job, working for Rumbo Newspaper in Houston, Texas as an advertising sales account manager. I have not accepted or been offered donations to date and do not need them. If this ministry is from God, it will last without begging for money. Some ministers today spend more time asking for donations than teaching the Gospel. God gave me understanding of His Word freely and I give what I have been blessed with freely and expect nothing more in return than your prayers. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions you might have.
In His Service,
Pastor Richard Earl von Eye
