Being More Than A Conqueror
(You Have Unlimited Power Available From God )
As a born again believer, you have been given unimaginable power from God. In order to understand what God has given you, requires an understanding of what God's Word says in regard to this truth. Ephesians 1:3-6 says: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation (creation) of the world, that we should be holy and without blaim before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace (unmerited divine favor), by which He made us accepted in the Beloved (Christ)." God did not call us to be defeated and trodden under foot by the Devil and those people he uses against us. He has empowered us with all power from on high to be more than conquerors in the name of Jesus Christ.

The truth of our God given ability to be more than a conqueror is outlined in Romans 8:31-39: "What shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall seperate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: For your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. (Pslam 44:22) Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities (governments) nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our lord."

As a "more than a conqueror" the first thing we must realize is that that God has not given us fear. . .we should not have fear: 2 Timothy 1:7 states: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." Again in the Old Testament, God states this principle by was of His servant David. Psalm 56:3-4, 9-11: "Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His Word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear, what can flesh do to me?", "When I cry out to You, then my enemies will turn back; this I know, because God is for me. In God (I will praise His Word), In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" It can not be more clear that fear is not of God. Fear defeats and fear is the opposite of believing. Fear in all actuality is negative believing and produces negative results in our lives. Job in the Old Testament account of his testing said, Job 3:25 "For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me." The first step to being more than a conqueror is to get rid of the fear you have in your life.

The next principles of importance to realize and believe is the extent of the position God has placed you in. The things promised to the Old Testament servants of God are that much more available to you as a son or daughter of God. Isaiah 54:17 says, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgement you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord." Then in Jeremiah 1:17-19 God states: "Therefore prepare yourself and arise, and speak to them all that I command you. Do not be dismayed before their faces (by their rank or position), lest I dismay you before them. For behold, I have made you this day a fortified city and an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land - against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land. They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you, says the Lord, to deliver you." This is the position God holds toward you and what He has promised to you. We must realize also that God is our source of help (our power) and not man. In Psalm 60:11-12 the Word states, "Give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless. Through God we will do valiantly, for it is He who shall tread down our enemies." David spoke in depth on this when he wrote Psalm 118 (verses 5-17): "I called on the Lord in distress; the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The Lord is for me among those who help me; therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes. All nations surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me; but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. They surrounded me like bees; they were quenched like a fire of thorns; for in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. You pushed me violently, that I might fall, but the Lord helped me. The Lord is my strength and song, and he has become my salvation. The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of the Lord does valiantly. The right hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord does valiantly. I shall not die but live, and declare the works of the Lord. " We have nothing to fear because God is in control. Our victory is not guaranteed by superior forces or superior weapons. Our victory is the gift of God. We do not put our confidence in princes (in the government, welfare, etc.) our confidence is in God. In our spiritual fight against the powers of darkness in our country and the world, in the name of God and our Lord Jesus Christ we will have the victory. We have the whole (complete) armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-17).

Neither the Devil nor the world has any authority over you. The world and the Devil (and the people working on his behalf) will tell you are nothing, you are not important, and countless other negative things to convince you that you do not have the ability to live a victouious life. It is the lie that has kept countless Christians from being the "more than a conquer" God has made them when they were born again. To sum it all up, the following verses sum up our position. Ephesians 6:11-12, "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles (schemings) of the Devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." And next James 4:7, 10, "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.", "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." Finally, 1 John 4:4 & 5:4-5, "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he that is in you than he who is in the world.", "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world - our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the son of God." The victory is yours. . . you are a victorious Christian soldier.
