The Way of Christ Ministry
There has been much taught about the financial condition and life style that is most desireable for a Christian to persue and maintain. Some would teach and have us believe that we should live meagerly and not desire to attain any degree of comfortable substance in financial or material possessions. That anything we obtain beyond what we need we should give to others (the church being a preferable recipient) so that we would not be tempted to sin and persue pleasures of life.

Others would teach us, that as Christians we should have an abundance that is beyond the measure of any typical unbeliever that lives around us and a lack of such super abundance is a poor witness on our part to the unbeliever. On the one hand it is sinful to be rich and on the other it is a sign of living in sin to be poor. It is not God's will for any of His children to lack the things that are needful in life nor is it His will for His children to fail to be prosperous. The believer who is following after the ways that God desires for him to follow and is seeking to know God will not lack in any good thing or lack the ability to perform good works (through lack of finances) that God puts on their hearts to accomplish. It is the will of God for His people, His children to be prosperous as well as righteous.

Early on in the scriptures God establishes certain facts in regard to His people and their monetary condition. First God clearly states that He gives His people who serve Him the power to get wealth and going one step further He clearly states that it is He (God) who teaches His people to profit! Well there goes the "poverty vow of servitude" attitude that some would want to have us believe is the purest way we can live and serve God. It is also of interest to note, that among the first three verses regarding abundance, profit, and prosperity is the statement that in the keeping of God's Word (the covenant) we will prosper in all that we do. Promises to the Old Testament believers were conditional. By fulfilling the required condition the accompanying promise would be granted by God to the believer. In the New Testament, the believer has already received the ability to receive the promise without the required action because what we ask for in the name of Jesus Christ we will receive. The promises merely tell us which things we can ask for with the expectation of receiving it from God in the name of Jesus Christ. Still, the conditional part is normally a thing we would do in our walk to be imitators of Christ and would not be something uncomfortable to do.
_Deuteronomy 8:18; "18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day."_

_Isaiah 48:17; "17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go."_
_Deuteronomy 29:9; "9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do."_

Consider what God says in His Word, expressed by the following verses relating to our temporal possessions and His view on such things in our respect. There is no want (no need for something lacked) to them who fear (reverence, respect, and love) Him, And, if you seek God you will not lack any good thing. Good thing is the key here...God won't give you something you can not handle or that is not going to be good (the best) for you. This is a promise that is stated once and then established as permanent by being stated a second time.
_Psalms 34:8-10; "8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. 9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. 10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing."_
_Psalms 84:11-12; "11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. 12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee."_

God will abundantly (present in great quantity) satisfy them who trust in Him with the fatness of His house.
_Psalms 36:7; "7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. 8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. 9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light."_

God will never forsake the righteous who seek Him and will not allow their condition to reach the point of having to beg in order to survive.
_Psalms 37:25; "25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."_

God will and does "Daily" load you with benefits. The word benefit according to the dictionary means: "1) Financial assistance in time of need, 2) Something that aids or promotes well-being." Getting daily loaded by God with benifits more than implies abundant financial and material things to meet our needs throughout the day.
_Psalms 68:19; "19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah."_

God says that the person who fears Him and "Delights in His Word"(read it, study it with pleasure) absolutely will be mighty on earth and riches and wealth will be in his house.
_Psalms 112:1-3; "1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. 2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever."_

Give of the things He has blessed you with back to Him (by Jesus Christ's standard - give to your brothers & sisters who might have need) and you will maintain your abundance for certain. In our case in the New Testament age, you'll also be laying up treasure in heaven as well.
_Proverbs 3:9; "9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine."_

God will not suffer (allow to undergo or be subjected to) the righteous to famish (be hungry; go without food) and His blessing makes rich. Please note this last part of the verse, He adds no sorrow with the riches, in other words, God does not give you riches that would cause you to come to harm from.
_Proverbs 10:3,22; "3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked. 22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it."_

God is the source of both riches and honor that bring no sorrow (harm) and it is in His hand to make great and give strength.
_1 Chronicles 29:11 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. 12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all."_

Jesus taught these principles to the disciples when he told them to take no thought (not to be anxious) for the material things required in life to live in comfort and provision. They were not to be like the unbelievers who had to seek diligently those necessities of life. He taught them the first principles in God's Word - seek God and His righteousness (to be righteous as God wants us to be) and All These Things absoultely will (Shall is the Old English absolute tense word for will - i.e. absolutely will) be added (given) to you.
_Matthew 6:31-32; "31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."_

Jesus then took his statement a little further in the parable of The Good Shepherd, when he stated that he had come that we might have life and have it "More Abundantly." The Greek word translated life here is the word "zoe," literally to be translated life in all incompasing aspects, according to usage. It refers not merely to life here on earth but to our eternal life as well. This statement encompasses all of God's statements in regard to abundance for the Old Testament believers (good health, wealth, no lack, long life) and extends beyond Christ Jesus' return and our eternal life to spend in heaven with him and God.
_John 10:10; "10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."_

Well, still some would say that Jesus did not include being wealthy in the material sense from the statement he had made in the parable of the good shepherd, yet to the apostles, it was a facet of the truths Jesus taught. In the second letter to Corinth we find the substantiating verification that our Lord Jesus Christ became poor so that we through his poverty might be rich. When he bore our sickness and sins on the cross for our forgiveness and for our healing, is was not just healing of physical ailments but financial ailments as well. God does not intend for His children to lack any good thing, He does not plan on our having to beg, He has already supplied us with all that we need.
_2 Corinthians 8:9; "9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich."_

God is not only able but is willing to make certain that we have all sufficiency in all things.
_2 Corinthians 9:8; "8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:"_

God is able to do "exceeding" "abuldantly" "above" (beyond to an extreme) All That We Ask or THINK! You don't even have to ask, just think "hey that would be nice" and God puts it on your door step! Now that is something.
_Ephesians 3:20; "20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,"_

And finally, My God abslutely will supply for All Your Needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
_Philippians 4:19; "19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."_
